About Juno CHEN
Juno CHEN is a writer and director from Taiwan, she completed her BFA in Theatre Directing in Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), 2020, and participated in an exchange program at the Department of Directing at the Shanghai Theater Academy, 2018. Currently, she pursuing her master's degree in Performance: writing at University of the Arts London, Central Saint Martins, in London.
In the theatre collaberation project "Being Beside A Burning Sun," she wrote and directed, premiered at the 11th Asia Pacific Bureau (APB) and subsequently toured to Bangkok, Yogyakarta, and Taipei. The production aimed to resonate with audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds, employing a poetic portrayal of the political situation in Taiwan. Through participation in diverse theatre festivals such as the Odin Festival, Wu Zhen Festival, and Kuandu Arts Festival...she formed a strong sense of wanting to build a global family by collaborating with artists across boundaries.
She later gained experience in the film industry by working as a Content Producer at film studio production companies both in Beijing and Taipei. Her original TV series, 'The Starry Night', was shortlisted for the 12th Ministry of Culture TV Screenwriting Award.
In the meantime, she got her teaching experience for leading drama classes and directing the students' annual theater production, including 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'The Match Maker'. This experience ignited a deep interest in education within her.
As a female writer, she is deeply committed to exploring the representation of women and amplifying their voices through narrative.
